Tiffany Denny
Physical Therapist | Yoga Instructor | Rehab Coach
She/Her/Hers (why are these here?)
Hi, I'm Tiffany — a Doctor of Physical Therapy, yoga teacher, rehab coach, and movement educator who has spent over two decades helping people move better and feel better.
My work encompasses 20+ years of teaching yoga, 15+ years of physical therapy and rehab coaching practice, a fascination with the puzzle that is the human mind-body, and a genuine belief in the healing power (and fun) that exists at the intersection of science, philosophy, exploration, and intuition.
TFW you have to wear a silly hat, but finally get to be “Dr. Tiffany”
I became a yoga student in 2002 and started teaching not long after — and somewhere along the way, my yoga practice made me want to understand bodies and movement more deeply. That curiosity led me to physical therapy school, where I earned my Doctor of Physical Therapy degree in 2011. I specialized in orthopedic PT, with additional training in pelvic health, neurological physical therapy, and vestibular therapy. My yoga background is rooted in Anusara and Iyengar-influenced traditions, with ongoing explorations into vinyasa, accessible yoga, and trauma-centered practice.
For years I've also taught anatomy and biomechanics to yoga teachers, which turns out to be one of my favorite things to do, because there's something really exciting about watching a teacher realize that understanding the "why" behind a pose completely changes how they cue it, influences sequencing, and piques a student’s sense of curiosity.
I come to this work with personal experience of repeated knee surgeries and a history of chronic pain — experiences that fundamentally inform how I think about bodies, healing, and what "getting better" actually means. It's not always linear, it's rarely what you pictured, and it often requires rethinking some deeply held beliefs about pain, identity, and progress. I've been there.
My approach, whether we're in a yoga class, a mobility or therapeutic workshop, or working together one-on-one through online private rehab coaching or yoga therapy — starts with what you can do right now and builds outward from there. I fit poses, exercises, and practices to people, not the other way around. I believe movement should feel like something you're doing with your body, not something you're doing to it. Movement science and pain science sit right alongside curiosity, exploration, and self-compassion over fear and force — every time.
If any of this resonates, I'd love to work together.
Aside from my nerdy interest in movement and my personal yoga and strength training practices, I love to hike, paddle, play beach volleyball, knit, travel, read, and observe (sometimes photograph, and when appropriate, pet) animals. Hopefully I’m getting to do one of those things with friends and family.
A note on who I am: I come to this work as a white, cisgender, heterosexual, able-bodied, thin-privileged woman, and I try to stay aware of how those identities shape my perspective and my teaching. I'm always open to feedback when your experience of me hasn't matched my intention of inclusivity and care.
